         Mit einem 3D-Drucker zur Herstellung von großen Kunststoff-Formteilen sollen bei Neue Materialien Fürth Formeinsätze aus Kunststoff für das Thermoformen sowie großflächige Prototypen hergestellt werden. Herkömmliche Verfahren zum Großformat-3D-Druck arbeiten in der Mehrzahl mit thermoplastischen Grundmaterialien. Bei diesen Werkstoffen ist die Temperaturbeständigkeit der hergestellten Bauteile vergleichsweise gering. Beim 3D-Druck mit Duroplasten wird in der Regel das Stereolithographie-Verfahren (SLA) angewendet. Dabei wird ein flüssiges Reaktionsharz schichtweise über einen Laser ausgehärtet.
