Supply and installation of a Raman Spectrometer for the Hot-Cells at JRC Karlsruhe
The JRC Karlsruhe plans to purchase a modular Raman spectrometer, which must be configured to enable measurements of highly radioactive samples (spent nuclear fuel) in a hot cell. The spectrometer will thus have a dual purpose of standard measurements and in a hot cell. Hot cell application must be managed by bringing the light via fibre optics into the cell, within which a video fibre optic probe/ movable table unit is located. Working in a hot cell brings a series of conditions. All repairs and adjustments must be made by telemanipulators. The spectrometer shall be able to record Raman spectra with high lateral (at least 1 μm) and spectral resolution (at least 2 cm-1). It shall also perform high resolution cartographies on heterogeneous samples. The purchase shall cover the delivery and installation of the complete equipment including the required modifications for a hot-cell installation, including sufficient training/demonstration to ensure trouble-free operation of the equipment.
