         Die VBL erstellt jährlich nach den Vorschriften des Handelsgesetzbuchs für große Kapitalgesellschaften sowie den besonderen Vorschriften für Versicherungsunternehmen und der Verordnung über die Rechnungslegung von Versicherungsunternehmen (RechVersV) über Pflicht- und Freiwillige Versicherung einen konsolidierten Jahresabschluss und Lagebericht. Gegenstand des vergebenen Auftrags ist die Prüfung des Jahresabschlusses und des Lageberichts der VBL gemäß §§ 316 ff. HGB sowie der freiwilligen Versicherung gem. § 341k und § 317 HGB i. V. m. § 57 VAG unter Beachtung der vom Institut der Wirtschaftsprüfer (IDW) festgestellten deutschen Grundsätze ordnungsgemäßer Abschlussprüfung (vgl. Prüfungsstandards und Prüfungshinweise des IDW). Über die durchgeführten Prüfungen ist gem. §§ 321 ff. HGB ein Prüfungsbericht zu erstellen und ein Bestätigungsvermerk zu erteilen. Kernaufgaben bei der Prüfung liegen u.a. im Bereich der Kapitalanlagen und der versicherungstechnischen Rückstellungen. Für die Prüfung sind daher fundierte Kenntnisse bezüglich derivater Finanzmittel erforderlich. Ebenso wird versicherungsmathematisches Fachwissen für Finanzierungs- und Bilanzierungsfragen bei kapitalgedeckten und im Abschnittsdeckungsverfahren finanzierten Abrechnungsverbänden vorausgesetzt.

         Daneben sind für die Durchführung der Prüfung Anwendungs-Kenntnisse der SAP-Module FI, FI-AA, TR, HR, HCM, FSCD und RE relevant. Die Beherrschung der deutschen Sprache in Wort und Schrift ist Bedingung. Prüfungszeitraum:

         Vorprüfung im November/Dezember, Hauptprüfung März/April, Bestätigung von Bilanz und GuV eine Woche vor dem 30. April.

         Der Prüfungsauftrag erstreckt sich zunächst auf das Jahr 2018. Anschließend kann die VBL den Prüfungsauftrag maximal dreimal um jeweils ein Jahr verlängern. Optional, d. h. auf gesonderten Abruf hat der Auftragnehmer darüber hinaus nachstehende Leistungen zu erbringen:

         a) Beratung bei Bilanzierungs- und Bewertungsfragen – insbesondere bei Kapitalanlagen;

         b) steuerliche Beratung;

         c) Durchführung von Sonderprüfungen und gutachterlichen Stellungnahmen;

         d) Prüfung der Kapitalanlagerichtlinie;

         e) Prüfung des Berichtswesens.

         In einem geschätzten Umfang von insgesamt ca. 200 Beratungsstunden jährlich.
